 01 The system in detail

## A complete sequence, on an industrial scale.

The G67 is presented as an industrial-scale system for infectious medical waste. Its redundant double-chamber configuration is designed for continuous 24/7 operation. The treatment follows six phases, bringing together automated loading, shredding, transfer, steam sterilisation, drying and discharge.

The process controls both the movement of the material and the conditions in which it is treated. Loading takes place by conveyor, shredded waste is transferred through a sealed screw conveyor, and air extracted during the initial vacuum stage passes through HEPA H14 filters. The cycle is documented through automatic PLC reporting.

Configuration

## Every detail. A purpose.

The main elements of the system, from its treatment method to its controls and output.

**Configuration**: Redundant double-chamber system

**Process**: Six phases, from automated loading to discharge

**Steam temperature**: Up to 142 °C

**Air filtration**: HEPA H14

**Cycle monitoring**: Automatic PLC reporting

**Heat management**: Integrated energy recovery

 02 How it works

## Six phases. One controlled process.

Follow the material, from loading to treated output.

 01

### Load & shred

 +

Waste boxes enter the system on a conveyor. The industrial shredder homogenises the material under slight vacuum, limiting the escape of odours and pathogens. The original description presents automated loading as a way to avoid direct operator contact with infectious material.

 02

### Transfer

 +

Once shredded, the waste moves into the sterilisation chambers through a sealed screw conveyor. This connects the mechanical preparation stage with steam treatment, moving the material between the two parts of the system inside the sealed transfer mechanism.

 03

### Initial vacuum

 +

Air is removed from the chamber before steam is introduced. This prepares the material for contact with steam during sterilisation. The extracted air passes through medical-grade HEPA H14 filters, making air handling part of the treatment sequence.

 04

### Steam sterilisation

 +

Pressurised steam is introduced at temperatures up to 142 °C. Internal shafts rotate to mix the material and support uniform heat exchange. Steam treatment follows the initial vacuum stage and precedes depressurisation and drying.

 05

### Dry & cool

 +

After sterilisation, depressurisation and pulsed vacuum cool the treated material. This stage reduces its moisture content and weight, preparing it for the final discharge phase. Drying is described as part of the G67 cycle itself.

 06

### Controlled discharge

 +

The treated, unrecognisable waste is discharged into collection bags. The original process description mentions disposal or energy recovery as subsequent destinations. Automatic PLC reporting documents the cycle, and GENCO states that waste is not discharged without sterilisation.

 03 Why this process

## From loading to process control.

01

### Automated material handling

The conveyor brings waste containers to the shredder, while a sealed screw conveyor moves shredded material into the sterilisation chambers. The original description presents this arrangement as a way to avoid direct operator contact with infectious material during loading and transfer.

02

### Air and heat managed within the process

Initial vacuum removes air before the steam stage; the extracted air is filtered through HEPA H14 filters. Inside the chambers, rotating mixing shafts support uniform heat exchange with pressurised steam at temperatures up to 142 °C.

03

### A documented treatment cycle

Automatic PLC reporting is described as a means of validating each cycle. GENCO also states that non-sterilised waste is not discharged. These are system features described in the product information; the specific reporting and validation documentation can be discussed with the team.

04

### Energy recovery

The G67 description includes an integrated energy recovery system that uses waste heat to serve other facilities. This connects treatment with the potential reuse of process heat. The way it is integrated with other users is part of the technical assessment for the project.

 04 The treated material

## Treated, dried and ready for collection.

After steam sterilisation, depressurisation and pulsed vacuum cool the material and reduce its moisture content and weight. The final phase discharges the treated, unrecognisable waste into collection bags. Drying and discharge are therefore part of the process sequence, rather than separate handling steps described outside the system.

The original process description mentions disposal or energy recovery as subsequent destinations for the output. It does not describe every treated material as recyclable. The intended destination should be discussed alongside the waste stream and the way the installation will operate.

 05 Product information

## Published performance.

Figures and statements published on the original GENCO site. Confirm test conditions, applicable waste streams and project requirements with the team.

**Sterility assurance**: SAL 10⁻⁶, as stated on the original site

**Operation**: Designed for continuous 24/7 operation

**Capacity**: The original site quotes up to 1,200 kg/hour and 12 tonnes/day. Operating hours and load conditions are not specified: request a project-specific capacity assessment.

**Discharge safety**: The original site states that non-sterilised waste is never expelled

**Operating costs and emissions**: Low maintenance costs and zero harmful emissions are claims on the original site; supporting test documents are not supplied there.

 06 Questions about G67

## A closer look.

Useful answers before discussing your project.

 01

### What distinguishes the G67 from the G33?

 +

The G33 is described for hospitals, clinics and laboratories, with integrated shredding and sterilisation. The G67 is presented as an industrial-scale, double-chamber system with a six-phase process, HEPA H14 filtration and PLC reporting. Selecting a system requires a discussion of the waste stream and operating requirements, not simply a comparison of model names.

 02

### What is the role of the initial vacuum?

 +

The initial vacuum removes air from the chamber so that steam can reach the surfaces of the material during sterilisation. The extracted air passes through HEPA H14 filters. This stage follows transfer of the shredded waste and precedes the injection of pressurised steam.

 03

### How is treatment capacity assessed?

 +

The original description quotes up to 1,200 kg/hour, 12 tonnes/day and continuous 24/7 operation without specifying the operating hours or load conditions behind the capacity figures. These values should not be combined into a guaranteed daily output. Ask GENCO to define capacity against the material, quantity and working schedule of the project.

 04

### Are volume reduction and energy recovery the same thing?

 +

They describe different aspects of the treatment. Shredding changes the physical form of the waste. The G67 energy recovery system uses residual process heat. Separately, the process description mentions energy recovery as a possible destination for treated output. These two uses of energy recovery should be assessed separately for the project.
